I found an error message from event viewer as
"Cold = {C55C88BF-1D28-494E-85CD-1F2548C5C0EC}:Layer=PPP:SubLayer=LCP: The connection attempt failed on port:COM16 because of the authentication protocol selected.Check to see if the authentication protocol is supported in the operating systems at the client and server ends of the connection".

Refer about RAS connection from the microsoft event log online help (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc733688(WS.10).aspx).
It is also recommended to refer more about remote desktop services from http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee891257(WS.10).aspx.
